Red Light Therapy

Red light and cold laser therapy are non-invasive modalities commonly used to support tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and promote cellular repair. These therapies work at the cellular level by stimulating blood flow and increasing the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate)—the primary energy source for cells. ATP plays a key role in cellular repair, regeneration, and growth following injury or stress.

When tissues are injured, the body initiates an inflammatory response as blood delivers oxygen and specialized cells to the affected area. While inflammation is a necessary part of healing, excessive or prolonged inflammation can delay recovery. Red light and cold laser therapy support the healing process by enhancing cellular efficiency, encouraging regeneration, and helping regulate inflammation.

Research into photobiomodulation has shown that cells exposed to specific wavelengths of light may increase the formation of new blood vessels, stimulate fibroblast activity (cells responsible for collagen and connective tissue production), and support new tissue development. These processes contribute to faster, more efficient healing with improved tissue quality and reduced discomfort.

How Red Light & Laser Therapy Support Healing

Red light and cold laser therapy may be beneficial in supporting:

• Cellular repair and regeneration
• Reduction of inflammation and swelling
• Improved circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues
• Collagen production for tissue strength and elasticity
• Nerve comfort and support in cases of irritation or dysfunction
• Muscle recovery and soft tissue healing
• Lymphatic movement and waste removal

These effects make laser therapy a valuable option for both acute injuries and chronic conditions, as well as post-performance recovery and maintenance care.

Each laser therapy appointment includes a full-body evaluation, targeted laser or red light application based on assessment findings, and a supportive lymphatic massage to encourage circulation and waste removal.
