The Equine Acupressure Certification Program is a comprehensive, evidence-informed training designed to provide practitioners, owners, and aspiring bodyworkers with a complete and practical understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), equine anatomy, acupoint location, assessment skills, and therapeutic application.
This certification was intentionally created to go far beyond surface-level education. Through a blend of in-depth theory, hands-on demonstration, peer-reviewed research, and case-based learning, students graduate confident, competent, and prepared to integrate acupressure safely and effectively into holistic equine care—whether for professional practice or personal use.
The program emphasizes assessment-driven treatment, precise point location, thoughtful protocol creation, and real-world application, ensuring acupressure is used with clarity, purpose, and clinical relevance.

Includes surface anatomy, palpation landmarks, foundational and advanced equine anatomy, detailed muscle identification (limbs, head/neck, back/core, pelvis), directional diagrams, quick-reference notes, a downloadable Equine Anatomy Book, external resources, and a quiz.
2. Acupressure Theory & Foundations
Learn what acupoints are, how they function, and why acupressure is used therapeutically and diagnostically.
Covers meridian energetics, benefits and contraindications, differentiating acu-modalities, assessment applications, peer-reviewed research, and a quiz.
3. Assessment of the Horse
Develop skilled observation and palpation techniques while integrating Western and TCM-informed assessment strategies.
Includes full-body assessment methods, discipline-specific patterns, TCM-based interpretation, lameness evaluation, demonstration videos, and a quiz.
4. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Theory
Gain a solid foundation in the principles guiding acupressure, including Qi flow, Five Elements, emotional correspondences, and constitutional typing.
Topics include TCM fundamentals (written and audio), a Chinese Medicine seminar by Dr. Angel, terminology, vital substances, Five Emotions, Five Element typing, organ-element connections, nutrition energetics, meridian tracing, deficiency/excess patterns, homework assignments, and a quiz.
5. Acupressure Practical Training
Learn precise point location, indications, actions, and therapeutic techniques.

9. Stress Points & Trigger Points
Differentiate acupoints from stress and trigger points and incorporate both into treatment.
Includes anatomy, identification, release techniques, demonstration videos, and a quiz.
10. Nervous System Integration
Explore the neuro-myofascial and neuro-energetic connections that reinforce acupressure’s effects.
Covers nervous system anatomy, parasympathetic regulation, meridian-nervous system correlations, nerve plexuses, and acupressure applications for nervous system support.
11. Complementary Modalities with Acupressure
Enhance outcomes by integrating adjunct therapies, including:
Laser Acupuncture (Photopuncture): red and near-infrared applications, demonstrations, peer-reviewed research, Equine Cushing’s support, device recommendations, and a quiz.
